Wanda Poynter died Thursday, July 24, 2008 in Gassville Nursing Home at the age of 78. She was born August 22, 1929 in Marion County, Arkansas, daughter of Jim and Hazel Cunningham Duggins. She married Albert Poynter and worked as a Seamtress at Mar-Bax Shirt Company. Wanda was a lifetime resident of the Gassville area. She was a substitutue teacher, enjoyed sewing, reading, voluntering her time and singing. Survivors: Wanda is survived by 3 Sons, Jim (JoAnn) Poynter of Black Canyon City, Arizona, Donald (Caroleen) Poynter of Mountain Home, Brad (Deanna) Poynter of Gassville, Daughter, Patricia Ann (Gene) Shipley of Mountain Home, 15 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren, 2 Brothers, Archie Duggins of Gassville and Larry Duggins of Mountain Home, North Carolina, 1 Sister, Brenda Aldridge of Weezer, Idaho and Several Nieces & Nephews. Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 Brothers. Visitation: Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. Friday, July 25, 2008 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Funeral: Funeral Service for Wanda Zue Poynter of Gassville, Arkansas, will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 26, 2008 at River of Life Assembly of God Church, with Reverend James Cox officiating . Burial: Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the River of Life Assembly of God Church. Active Bearers: Randy Weaver, Ronnie Weaver, Carl Meeks, Russell Duggins, Deven Duggins and Tommy Warren as pallbearers.
