Warner Jack Berry was born May 18, 1935 in Berwyn, Illinois. He was the son of Byrd and Eva Lynch Daughtery. He married Tonia Kotlowski on August 22, 1990 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He served for twenty years in law enforcement in Memphis, Tennessee; Dallas, Texas; and West Helena, Arkansas before moving to Lakeview, Arkansas in 1982. He was Chief of Police in Lakeview for eighteen years before retiring and then becoming Justice of the Peace for three terms. He was active in municiple government for the last six years after being elected Justice of the Peace. A collection of his memoirs, "When You're the Only Cop in Town", was published in 2002. Mr. Berry was also a United States Navy veteran. Warner Jack Berry passed away at Baxter Regional Medical Center on May 19, 2005, at the age of seventy years and one day.
