Mountain Home

Wayne David Jolibois, 72, passed away at home on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Wayne was born in Houston, Texas on May 10, 1952 to Earl and Lois Jolibois. He is survived by his wife, Anne Jolibois; daughters, Tracie Lynn (Bo) Holler, Lisa Anne (Chris) Palmer, and Karen Marie (William) Bolin; sister-in-law, Bonnie Jolibois; cousins, Keith and Kevin Jolibois; five grandchildren, Kayloni Hartsfield, Kingston Hartsfield, Brian (Jessica) Palmer, Sarah Palmer, and Connor Bolin; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roy Jolibois; and sister-in-law, Judy Geer.

Wayne’s passion his entire life was riding motorcycles. This hobby started during his teens with a chopper motorcycle. He purchased his first Harley Davidson in his early twenties. He owned several bikes over the years and they got first priority for garage space. For many years, Wayne's pick-up truck sat in the driveway while the motorcycles enjoyed a clean, dry garage. Eventually he switched from Harley bikes to Gold Wings. His last bike was an RL1800 Honda Gold Wing trike, purchased so he could continue to ride in his later years. He met his wife, Anne, in 1992 at Lone Star Singles Square Dance Club in Houston, Texas. They took many memorable motorcycle and camping trips over the years. Wayne was a master at smoking and grilling meat, which he proudly served to his family at every holiday or birthday gathering, all held at his house. Another passion was landscaping and caring for his yard. It always looked as well-groomed as a golf course.

In 2003, Wayne retired after thirty years of working for AT&T. His retirement was perfectly timed and allowed him to take care of his parents’ needs in their later years. In 2009, he and Anne moved from Houston, Texas to Mountain Home, Arkansas, a quiet village in the Ozark Mountains with two huge lakes nearby, the best motorcycling trails in the country, and a large population of retirees. In January, 2011, they became leaders of a Motorcycle Club for senior citizens, the Retreads. They led this Club for nine years. Wayne was also a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
