Wendell Ray Barnes, Sr., Age 73, of Oakland, passed away December 21, 2013, at the Care Manor Nursing Home in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Wendell was born August 25, 1940, in Marlow, Oklahoma to Ray Barnes and Etha Olena Green. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Monroe Ogletree. He married Naomi Rhoades, they divorced and he married Pebble Freeman Sisney, she later passed away.
Wendell loved traveling all over the country, fishing, going to Silver Dollar City and visiting friends until his health problems prevented him from doing so.
He is survived by his children, Carol (Michael) Jack of Roosevelt, Utah, Wendell (Debbie) Barnes Jr. of Oakland, AR and Judy (Tommy) Curlee of Clayton WA; sister, Vivian (Frank) Traina of Lawton, OK; three grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and very special friend, Lou Hill of Mountain Home, AR.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pebble, mother, stepfather; brothers, Ted Barnes, Ralph Barnes and Johnnie Ogletree and sister, Janice Sandman.
Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
