A Funeral Mass for Wilber Foster Carrico of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Thursday, March 22, 2012, at St. Peter The Fisherman Catholic Church, with Reverend Chris Okeke at Celebrant. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM. Wilber passed away March 18, 2012, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 77. He was born September 8, 1934, in Bardstown, KY, the son of Charles and Lucy Spaulding Carrico. He married Patricia Ruth McDaniel on December 28, 1957, at Evansville, Indiana and was a retired United States Air Force Master Sgt. He was a heavy equipment supervisor. Wilber lived in Gamaliel and Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1973, moving from Columbus, Ohio. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, V.F.W. Post #3246, American Legion Post #52, Farm Bureau, AARP, and TERA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his tractor. Wilber is survived by 3 daughters, Cheryl (Bryan) Gibbs of Conway, AR, Shelly (Jim) Poffinbarger of Mountain Home, AR and Kathy (Terry) Sponer of Little Rock, AR; 2 sons, Steven (Patricia) Carrico of Dripping Springs, TX and Nick (Maryanne) Vinson of Indianapolis, IN; 2 brothers, Victor Carrico of Owensboro, KY and Johnny Carrico of Summerville, TN; 4 sisters, Lou (Kenny) St. John of Vevay, IN, Dorothy (Charlie) Manis of Indianapolis, IN; Sue (Ronnie) Flick of Vevay, IN and Ann (Al) Harris of Ocala, FL; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Carrico, mother, Lucy Irene Carrico, wife, Patricia Ruth Carrico, 2 sons, Shane Carrico, and Michael McDaniel, sister, Bonnie Childers and granddaughter, Ashley Black. Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Steven Carrico, Jim Poffinbarger, Austin Farnam, Bryan Gibbs, Alex Bentley and Patrick Bentley as pallbearers. Dion Carrico, Nathan Carrico, Bryce McDaniel and Chris Vinson will be honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital.
