Graveside memorial services for Wilburn B. "Red" Gaither, 82, of Gamaliel, Arkansas, will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 14, 2010 at the Maynard Bend Cemetery with the North Arkansas Veteran's Council Alley White American Legion Honor Guard providing Military Honors.
Red died Monday, May 10, 2010 at his residence. He was born February 2, 1928 in Spring Lick, KY, the son of Avery and Tassie Given Gaither. He married Audrey Dieckmeyer on November 17, 1951 at St. Louis, Missouri. He worked as a Lineman for Union Electric (Now Ameram) for 33 years.
Wilburn was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of WW II and Korea. "Red" lived in Gamaliel, Arkansas since 1989 moving from St. Louis, MO.
Wilburn "Red" Gaither is survived by his wife Audrey of Gamaliel, three brothers; Jack (Neila) Gaither of Gilbertsville, KY, Gene (Evelyn) Gaither of Beaver Dam, KY and Joe (Trish) Gaither of Drakesboro, KY, three sisters; Dale (Linnie) Barnards of Centeral City, KY, Lorraine Reids of Rockport, KY, and Barbara.(Danny) Quisenberry of Johnson City, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Burial will be in the Maynard Bend Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Gamaliel Fire Department.
