William Henry King of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away December 26, 2020, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 91. He was born June 5, 1929, in Port Arthur, Texas, the son of Henry Fielding and Helen Emerson King. William was in the Merchant Marines and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War and was a member of several class years as he worked his way through dental school to become a dentist. He married Joan Haralson on Flag Day, June 14, 1960 in Las Vegas, Nevada. William lived in Mountain Home since moving from Gulfport, Mississippi, in 2005. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church. He enjoyed working in his yard, doing puzzles, and driving all over the country to visit old friends and thank them for their kindness to him in his younger years.
William is survived by his son, William Ronald (Elka) King of Mountain Home, and grandson, William Hudson King of Mountain Home, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 3, 2021, from 2:00 pm until service time, at Redeemer Lutheran Church. A Funeral Service for William will be 3:00 pm, Sunday, January 3, 2021, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Reverend David Gadbaw and Reverend Kevin McReynolds officiating. Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Due to current restrictions, masks are required.
Memorials may be made to Baxter Regional Hospital Foundation or Redeemer Lutheran Church.
