William James Murphy

William James Murphy of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away July 20, 2023, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 82. He was born August 8, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Gerald and Mary Monoco Murphy. He was born and raised in Chicago. Bill went to Lincoln College and then worked in purchasing and executive placement while raising his family in the Chicago suburbs. Bill then moved into law enforcement before retiring in 1998 to Mountain Home, Arkansas, to work unsuccessfully on his golf game. Bill enjoyed traveling, war history, and activities with his family. He grew to love hockey, old movies, and TV shows, especially westerns, and also watching golf on TV.

William is survived by his three children, Robert (Dana) Murphy, Donna (Craig) Lucas, and Daniel (Diane) Murphy; grandchildren, Kristin, Jenna, Erik, Grace, Colin, Ryan, and Elizabeth.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Denise (Robert) Burke.

Memorials may be made in Bill's name to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House or the American Cancer Society
