William Roof

William Roof Sr. died Saturday, February 2, 2008 in Mountain Home at the age of 89. William Roof Sr. was born Tuesday, November 5, 1918 in Mason City, IL, the son of Harry Franklin Roof and Lena Beatrice Smith. He married Grace Agnes Polimeni on June 24, 1939 at Waukegan, IL. He worked as a Operating Engineer. William Roof Sr. was an Army veteran of WWII and lived in Mountain Home since moving from Pampano Beach, Florida. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, National Rifle Association, North American Hunting Club, Wild Turkey Federation. He was an avid turkey hunter and White Sox baseball fan. Survivors: 2 sons Kenneth (Elizabeth) Roof of Mountain Home, AR and Harry F. Roof, of Illinois, daughter Frances L. (Charles) Bernardi of Pampano Beach, FL, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 1 sister, Beatrice (Loren) Smith of Mason City, IL Preceded in Death by: his wife, parents and 1 son, William G.
