William Smith

A memorial service for William Charles Smith, 84, formerly of Mountain Home, will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 10 at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Randy Ludwig officiating. Mr. Smith died Wednesday, November 29, 2006, in Kosciusko, Mississippi. William Charles Smith was born August 4, 1922, in Itasca County, Minnesota, to Walter and Queen Bly Smith. He married Lydia Acton on March 16, 1946, at Birmingham, Alabama. He was a pilot and farmer for 31 years at Smitty's Farm, Inc. Mr. Smith was a Marine veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He is survived by one son, Dr. Alan A. (Carla M.) Smith of Conway, Arkansas; one daughter, Lynn M. Smith of Memphis, Tennessee; two grandsons, Shaun Alan Smith of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Micah Paul Smith of Little Rock, Arkansas; and one sister, Marie Dimich of Lawrence Lake, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Entombment will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to Habitat For Humanity.
