William Franklin Straka passed away January 4th, 2024 at the age of 91, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 9th, 1932 in Farmer Township, Defiance County, Ohio to Louis and Stella Straka. His death was preceded by his parents and his siblings, Mary Pringle, Jerry Straka, and Delano Straka. He is survived by his children Dawn (Jamie) Clingaman, William A. (JoAnna) Straka, and Jennifer Straka; his grandchildren Joshua (Mallory) Straka, Hunter (Michaela) Clingaman, Nicholas Straka, Tanner Clingaman, Dylan Snyder, Hayden (Emili) Clingaman, and Riley Straka; step grandchild Terence (Beth) Clingaman his step great-grandchildren Claire, Charlie, and Cate Clingaman and great granddaughter Kira Straka; and his long time dear friend, Gert Dunlop. William served in the U.S. military from 1952-1954. He started working for General Motors at the age of 18. His drive, willpower, and hard working mentality allowed him to retire at the age of 45. He moved to Arkansas so he could spend his retirement doing the hobbies he loved; such as hunting and fishing. He lived and breathed the outdoors, finding his happiness in nature. Some of his family’s fondest memories with him included cruising the lake on the boat, talking and laughing the day away as the fishing line sunk into the waters below. When he wasn’t doing this, he could be found in his house, sitting in his armchair enjoying a Nascar race or football game on the television. A private entombment will be held in Kirby's Tucker Mausoleum Complex, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Visit an online obituary and guestbook at
