William Watkins

Bill Watkins died Friday March 7, 2008. He was 84 years old. Bill was born February 2, 1933 at Bellville, Ohio to Dennis and Mabel Watkins. Bill attended 13 different schools including several one room school houses growing up. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the European Theater and was a POW. Bill graduated from Ohio State University with his degree in Architectural Engineering. He worked as an Engineer for the city of San Jose, California. He lived in the Twin Lakes area for twenty years moving here from Santa Clara, California. Bill was a member of the Bull Shoals United Methodist Church and served as Chairman of Trustees, an usher, a member of the United Methodist Men's group and sang in the choir. He belonged to the Bull Shoals Retirement Fishing Club, the Citizens for Clean Water, and the Elks Club. Bill liked to say he was mean, but for those who knew him he was anything but! Survivors: He is survived by his companion, Doris DeSousa of Lakeview, Arkansas, daughter Karen Welch(Howard) of Redding, California, grandchildren; Dan and Sonya Buccellato, and Renee Bandido(Todd) all of San Jose, California and two great-grandchildren Joey and Brandon Bandido. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Funeral: A Memorial Service for William "Bill" Jackson Watkins will be at 10AM Wednesday March 12, 2008 at Bull Shoals United Methodist Church with the Reverend Nicholas Lascaro officiating. Burial: Burial will be in Ohio. Memorials: Bull Shoals United Methodist or Hospice
