Graveside services for Wilmont Hazel Shelton of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 11:00 AM Monday, October 10, 2011, at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park, Orange, Texas with Reverend Lynn Ashcraft officiating. Pallbearers will be Billy Barrick, John Badeaux, Jr, Judson, Brent and Blaine Shelton and Coby Badeaux.
Wilmont went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at Baxter Regional Medical Center, at the age of 94. She was born October 16, 1916, to William Henry Crippin and Ida Hurst Crippin in Ullin, Illinois. She married Paul Edward Shelton on January 13, 1940.They moved to Orange, Texas in January 1946 where Mr. Shelton worked as a tile contractor until his death in 1978. Wilmont was a member of North Orange Baptist Church for over 60 years. She taught Sunday school many years there. She retired from Sears in 1975 and moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas in 2005.
Wilmont is survived by 1 son, Leon (Marsha) Shelton of Uintah, UT; 2 daughters, Connie (Harold) Appleby of Mountain Home, AR and Jill Shelton Badeaux of Nederland, TX; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 1 due in February 2012 and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; 1 son, Stanley Shelton; 1 daughter, Paula Barrick and 13 siblings.
Memorials may be made to the North Orange Baptist Church, 4775 North 16th. St., Orange, Texas 77632.
