Mr. Vines was born November 1, 1912 at Comanchee County, Texas to John Wesley and Evie Lee Barker Vines. He married Jessie Cross at Clovis, New Mexico on August 12, 1933. Mr. Vines was a supervisor for the railroad. He had lived in the Flippin area since moving from Shattuck, Oklahoma in 1974. He loved baseball, archery and fishing. Mr. Vines was a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Vines died Friday, September 28, 2007 at Flippin at the age of 94. Survivors: He is survived by two daughters, Juanell LaRue and Wilda Eason, both of Flippin; one brother, Walter Vines of Texas, three sisters, Nadene Vines of Goodman, Missouri, Nurene Vines of Texas, Mary Vines of Goodman, Missouri, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers. Funeral: Funeral services for Wilson A. Vines of Flippin will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 1, 2007 at the Flippin Church of Christ with Brother John Carey and Brother Terry Frizzell officiating. Burial: Burial will be in the Flippin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Flippin Church of Christ.
