We are the only private, locally-owned, and family-operated crematory in the Twin Lakes area.
Cremations are performed at our private, on premise crematory located inside Kirby and Family Funeral Home. Even though all funeral homes advertise cremation services, most people are shocked to learn that the cremation process itself is subcontracted out to third parties in unknown, distant locations. We think it is important that you know the difference between cremation and on-site cremation. We wish to emphasize that your loved one never leaves our direct care and never leaves our facilities.
There's a difference between cremation and on-site cremation. Kirby and Family has owned and operated their own crematory for over 25 years. Your loved one never leaves our care. A licensed funeral director is always in charge. We utilize a 3 step process to track all of our cremations from beginning to end to ensure 100% assurance that your loved one is being taken care of and tracked properly through the process. We also do not perform cremations for other funeral homes.
State law requires that a death certificate be completed by the Certifier (doctor, hospice nurse, coroner, etc.) before cremation can occur.
Kirby and Family can help you design a simple service that can truly benefit your family. We have several plans designed to meet the needs of your family and friends while saving you money.
Some funeral homes advertise low price, but tack on extra fees. Call us first and we'll give you a list of questions to ask other funeral homes.
At Kirby and Family, year in and year out, families surveyed have consistently rated our services as Excellent. Only Kirby and Family makes a 100% satisfaction money back guarantee.
Please note: We do not perform cremations for other funeral homes.

In our contemporary society, individuals often find themselves deprived of sufficient time to cope with their losses. The demands of work and the emotional urge to stay occupied can prematurely thrust the bereaved back into their daily routines.
Furthermore, a growing number of families are opting to scatter the cremated remains of their dear ones in cherished locations like the ocean or the skies. Although this may seem appropriate at the moment, it means there isn't a consistent place to reconnect with the cherished memories of the departed.
Having a permanent resting place, whether in a cemetery, mausoleum, or cremation garden, offers a crucial element in the period following a loss. It serves as a central point for remembrance, providing everyone with a special location to visit, whether to reminisce about your loved one or to mark significant occasions. This can help alleviate the pain associated with events like birthdays or anniversaries.
A permanent site for reflection on your loved one becomes a way to link to your family's history. Visiting the resting place of grandparents or great-grandparents can provide children with a connection to their personal heritage, anchoring them in their family's past. It serves as a connection to the love that was shared and truly honors the enduring relationship you maintain – and will always have – with that special person.
